Sprocket Pillows

I made these pillows for Liz for Christmas.  I followed this tutorial.

I used 7 different fabrics from the "Sunkissed" collection.  The pillows measure 16 and 14 inches.
I will definitely make more of these in the future.

Just in Time for Christmas!

I put the last stitch in the binding last night.  Notice my husband's "Christmas Story" leg lamp in the window.

The back is my very favorite color, RED.

I think Kate Spain's "Twelve Days of Christmas" and Dutch Pinwheels go together nicely.

I love it more and more every time I look at it.  It is 86 x 86, perfect for our bed.

Dream On!

My latest finish is a charm pack quilt made completely of the Dream On collection by Urban Chiks.  Sorry the pictures are a little washed out,  the winter sun is very bright this morning.

These fabrics are reproductions of vintage sheets and very much remind me of the sheets I slept on in the sixties and seveties.

Lucy needed to get in on this photo shoot.

The quilt is made up of 10 charm packs that I collected over several months so it took me several days to sew 420 5 inch squares into strips and then all together.

The back is white with orange flowers and green ribbons and the binding is the yellow stripe.  It measures 90 x 94.5 and is on a bed already.

12 Days of Christmas!

Last year Moda produced this cute holiday collection designed by Kate Spain.  It is called 12 Days of Christmas and I loved it as soon as I saw it.

I decided to make a bunch of 1/2 square triangles and then turn them into Dutch Pinwheel blocks.

I have wanted a Christmas quilt for our bed for a while so my plan is to make 16 of these blocks (they measure 17.5) and then add two borders so that it will be a square queen size quilt.  I will post pictures later when the project is finished.

Birthday Quilts!

I made this Union Jack quilt for my sister Sara in honor of her birthday which was yesterday.  I've had it finished for a while but had to wait to show it.

Sara served a mission for our church in England when she was younger and has always had a great love for that country and people.

I used whatever red and blue fabrics I could find in my stash, most of them are from the Connecting Threads Canning Day collection but I also used a red from the Sherbet Pips collection.  The pattern is called Victory Garden by Busy Bee Quilt Designs.  It measures 56 x 62, a perfect lap size.

Yesterday was also my sister-in-law Stacy's birthday so I made her this sweet lap quilt.

I used FigTree Quilts Butterscotch and Roses collection, a charm pack and honey bun plus fig tree cream for the sashing.  The pattern is called Square One by Camille Roskelley found in her Simplify book.  It measures 56 x 65 and both quilts have a 80/20 cotton poly batting.

I loved making these quilts.  They both turned out just the way I wanted them to.

Quick Baby Quilt!

Miranda and I have been invited to a baby shower this weekend so I needed a quick quilt.  Luckily I had some charm packs of Strawberry Fields by Fig Tree Quilts.

I used 72 squares so the quilt measures 36x40.  I pieced together a binding and back with some leftover larger pieces from Whitney's birthday quilt and the X Marks the spot quilt.
It turned out very cute and will be perfect for a sweet baby girl.

BOM #9

I truly am behind but I will surely catch up.  This is the block from April and it is called a Jewel Box.

Here is a picture of all 9 of the blocks I've made so far.  Only 4 more to go.

On Its Way to Whitney

Whitney will celebrate a birthday next week and so this quilt is for her.

I used 2 Jelly Rolls of Strawberry Fields from Fig Tree Quilts by Joanna Figueroa and Bella Moda White.

 I used this pattern.

The colors in this fabric collection are beautiful.

I tried a new quilting pattern and I think it turned out very well.

The binding is made up of different prints that I had left over.

The back is the beautiful yellow print from the collection.

The quilt measures 88 x 96 and has a Hobbs 80/20 batting.
Happy Birthday Whitney and sweet dreams as you lay under this cute quilt.

Prize at the Fair

I was excited when my Swoon quilt won the prize for best machine quilting at the county fair.  This was a surprise because it was the easiest to quilt of the 3 that I entered.  I also entered my Cameo and X Marks the Spot quilts.  They both received blue ribbons.  I now have a gift certificate for $10.00 to spend anywhere in the county, except Maverik.  Pat's Sew and Stuff, here I come.

What a Relief!!

 Finally it's finished.

As you can see, I quilted a beadboard border which meant a lot of ruler work.
The cameos are quilted in circle feathers and the sashing is a small stipple.

I like the look of the circle feathers from the back.

This is one of my favorite cameos,  probably because of the red print.

I took this picture before it was bound, when I first unloaded it.  I used double batting in this quilt to give a higher loft to the border.  The fabric is Joanna Figueroa's "Mill House Inn".

Strawberry Fields for Me!

I quilted the X Marks the Spot quilt this past week and then finished the binding this morning.  I loved the "Strawberry Fields" fabric collection as soon as I saw it and knew I would make a quilt for myself from it.  Any fabric from Joanna Figueroa is guaranteed to catch my eye.  The back is a green and pink floral print from the collection and the binding is the blue dot.  I quilted the center section of this quilt in an all over flower pattern and the outside border in a meandering ribbon.  This is a queen size quilt and the batting is Hobbs 80/20.

Thoroughly Modern!

I quilted this for a customer this week.

She got the pattern out of a magazine and the picture of the quilt showed squiggly line quilting.

That's what she wanted so that is what I did.  This was fun to quilt, just going back and forth.
I like the bright colors, this is a very summery and modern quilt.

Completed Swoon

It's finally finished.  I really love how this quilt turned out.

I quilted it in a continuous swirl pattern with white cotton thread on front and back.  The back is a sheet from Ikea and the batting is Hobbs 80/20.

I just love looking at it!

Late Wedding Gift

I finished Miranda (daughter) and Aldo's wedding quilt today.

It measures 90 x 90 and has a backing made up of two twin size Ikea flat white sheets.

The batting is an 80/20 cotton-poly blend and it has been washed and dried in a delicate cycle with a Shout Color Catcher sheet so the red didn't bleed onto the white.

I did a simple stipple quilting pattern because I felt like the fabric and cute pattern is the main focus of this quilt.  The binding is a gray print from the Ruby collection.  Of course Ruby is a fabric from the fabulous Bonnie and Camille.  This quilt is soft and cuddly and I know Miranda will love it.
