This Week's Project!

I've had the pattern and fabric for this project for a while,  it's been sitting in one of my fabric closets.  The pattern is called Cameos and the fabric is Mill House Inn, both are by Fig Tree and Co.  The green inner round is actually left over from the Fresh Cottons fabric I had for the Saltwater Taffy quilt.(also designed by Joanna Figueroa of Fig Tree and Co.)  figtreequilts.com
The pattern is for a lap size quilt but I wanted to make this one a queen size for our bed so I bought extra fabric because I need 42 cameos instead of 20.

I started out with rectangles and then added a square to each corner then trimmed.

I then pressed each corner out flat

and added the top and bottom, then the sides and

 trimmed the corners again.

Now it's time to open the Honeybun (I used 2)
and add another round.

Here is one of the finished cameos,  isn't it pretty?

I have finished 20 of these and have 22 more finished except for the 3rd round.  I had no idea these would be so time consuming, though I know once this quilt is finished it will be well worth the time and effort.

This is only part of what I have trimmed off of the corners.

Custom Quilting!

I had the opportunity to do the quilting and binding on this cute quilt.  Kristie, from Cottonwood Heights (formerly of Ferron) made the quilt for her daughter.  I love, love love it.  Because Kristie asked me to do the binding along with the quilting, I was able to watch "North and South"  again without feeling guilty for sitting through a 4 hour show.  And can I say,  I also love, love, love, Mr. Thornton.

She Did It!

 Banner finished her quilt yesterday.

The back! I think this is my favorite fabric in the "Just Wing It" collection.

This quilt was made with 1 layer cake and then the fabrics for the borders, binding and back.

A closer look.  I did the quilting but Banner did the rest, even the hand-sewn binding.

This is Banner's second quilt made with Momo fabrics.  I made the "Glad All Over" quilt for her a year and a half ago using the "Wonderland" collection.  She seems to love the Japanese prints.  This quilt was done for her Divine Nature value project,  it took her just over 12 hours.  She is now completely finished with her Personal Progress requirements.

Groovy Quilt Top!

Miranda sent this quilt top home with me to add the border.  I think the stripes really frame the rest of the quilt.

These colors bring back memories of the 70's.

I look forward to quilting it when I get the back and batting .  The quilt measures 52 X 73, a perfect lap size quilt.
