Just Dreamy Rag Quilt

I woke up last night at about 2:00 am and couldn't get back to sleep so I came downstairs and cut out the squares for this quilt.  I cut 25 8 1/2 inch squares for the front and the same for the back.  I cut 7 inch squares of warm and cozy for the inside.  Then I went back upstairs and fell asleep.
I started sewing the sandwiched squares together this morning.  I used 3/4 inch seams and then cut with my scissors around all the squares.  I then washed and dried it.  This is the finished result.  It is approximately 36 x 36.  I think this would be fine for a baby girl or boy.  What do you think?

Poppin Posies!

I think this is one of the cutest quilts I've ever done.  The pattern is Poppin Posies by Izzy and Ivy.  The fabric is Just Dreamy designed by Riley Blake.  It took a day  to finish the quilt top, most of the time was spent on the center because of the applique flowers. I first traced all of the center pieces on Heat n Bond Lite.  I then cut them out and placed them on the fabric, pinned them in place and cut the heat n bond and the fabric.  After everything was cut out, I pressed the fabric and heat n bond together.  I laid everything out and placed the green ric rac where I wanted it and then sewed it on.  After that I removed the paper backing from the bond and then pressed all the flowers and petals in place. I used a blanket stitch on my machine to sew on the applique and I think it looks quite nice.  When I was picking up the ric rac and backing for this quilt, I forgot to get matching thread for all of the colors.  Luckily I have a box of thread my mother had given me years ago and I was able to find the right color for each flower, petal and ric rac.  This quilt ended up measuring 40x52.  I'm not sure how I will quilt this, any ideas?

I love this fabric so much, so when I found out it was also printed in flannel I ordered some to make a rag quilt.

Last week when we were coming home from Vegas, we stopped at Miranda's in Cedar City.  She wanted to put a quilt top together for a friend who is expecting in April.  We both worked together, me cutting and her sewing.  This is the result from just an hours work.  Next time she comes home we will get it quilted and bound and it will be ready for a sweet baby boy.

Banner's Quilt!

I finally finished Banner's quilt.  It is made from Moda's Poetry Collection by April Cornell.  The pattern is called a Scottish Star.  I got the idea from a quilt magazine that I have had for several years.  It took me a while to get the fabric because I had to order it from several different online stores.
I love this little quilt top.  The pink, orange and brown look so good together.  I'm going to try quilting it along the seam lines with a new template ruler that I purchased at the Cotton Shop a couple of weeks ago.

I finally finished the "Sweet Tweets" and  pinwheel quilt tops.  On Sweet Tweets, I  used 9 different fat quarters for the birds and wings and appliqued them on white Bella Moda broadcloth.  The pinwheel quilt top was made with a Snippets charm pack by American Jane and broadcloth.

The first pile of fabric is called Paisley Party by Red Rooster.
I will be making a queen size quilt for Tennyson with it.

The fabic in the bottom picture is intended for a zig zag baby quilt.  I love the orange, pinks and browns.
